Those we meet

Posted on October 6, 2025October 6, 2025 by Verl

I find myself back at my own casa, my own keyboard and my own chair. Please understand that through life I have lived in many places traveled many different roads and always returned to where the trail started. I could not even guess how many times that was so in my life. Somehow returning to Colombia seems as though I have finally found my home. God moves in many ways in many different people and when a new person enters my personal world I now look at in differently. Why was this person introduced or placed in my path I continually ask myself. As sure as God made road apples (animal dung) he made sugar cane each placed before us and our choice which we want to pick up or smell.

As it may seem like a bad example I feel it is right to the point. Each person I meet has something that I am to learn from or I am to give him or her something they need. The road apples give life to plants and grasses and they decay and add to something. The sugar cane sounds good but in excess can be worse for us than the road apples. Upon every trail we cross paths with another person who we can decide if they are road apples or sugar cane. But just because they are what they are does not make them right or wrong. I try to make sure that each of my experiences end with my having gave as much of myself as is possible and if it does not make for a happy reunion I like to think I was not because of me. If I can offer rain to the road apple or shade to the sugar cane I have gave what I thought may help that one who has come into my world. As we travel and meet those that come before us please remember all roads are not smooth not all roads run down hill but they are not always up hill either. I am so happy to be back at my own keyboard looking to the Caribbean Ocean and just knowing I must have had a purpose for traveling but as tired as I am it will be awhile before I attempt that again.
