Many years ago, as the population grew, the need to get rid of body waste was an everyday necessity. Not wanting the smell, or to look at this, it was decided to build a small building, and it was called an βouthouseβ. Disgusting subject but a major part of those days gone by.
Many story; many jokes of the βouthouseβ was common terminology at the time. A popular book, Thirty yards to the outhouse by Will He Make it, was recited many times, how about βforty yards to the outhouse by;Β Can He Make it? Why this subject? Because it is the worst of the worst anyone wants to talk about. However, we must know of this, so we can compare those necessities to those that are easier, and more fun, to talk about.
Life is pleasant as long as we dwell on how things can improve, or how they can be better. What we speak about, what we discuss, are the object of importance here. We start with a discussion, and we continue until we either agree or disagree.
It all starts with a conversation and if we do not agree it becomes an argument. We become entangled in a war of words and that can be between friends, spouses, cities, counties, states or government.Β If heated it becomes more, but the part I would like to talk about is that which comes after the discussion, and the argument.
Do you feel more love, as friends, or spouse, in the discussion, during the argument, or after? The discussion leads to either agreeing or an argument, but the winner is not from either of those subjects. Between friends and spouse, it is a short time until the results actually come forth. Jumping past, those between people, and come to a government.Β And the common denominator here is what is the results of that which just occurred determining the ruling unit. A Government takes longer to find the results, and it is not the campaign one runs before, it is not the victory, it is only the results after, that is remembered.
What both sides do after this is far more important than the discussion or the fight. Nothing could be further from the truth than the statement βIt does not matter how I win, only that I winβ.
The United States is not a great nation because they won a war. It is not great because the founders created a government for the people by the people. It was what came after, that joining of men, with a common faith. They wanted to be able to live as God had intended it to be. The nation was created after those, who wanted what God had intended for all.
It was not because of winning the wars it was what came after they victory. Husband and wife, government or nation what we do after is far more important than either the discussion, or the fight.
Great men, as great nations, are not remembered for winning the fight, but what they do after. Was victory is good; for all Godβs children or just a few? Hitler was a great leader, but had he won what do you think would be the results?
Greatness is not in the discussion, nor in the fight. Greatness comes in what both sides did later. God created a perfect world, and when those that win, can continue with that, history shows what greatness really is about. Those that win have an obligation that began with the victory, not before or during.
We can accept what was gave to us, but it is not possible to add more than what was handed to us. We can perfect it; we can fight for it, and we can die for it.
Greatness is shown in compassion and understanding. That is what all of us want out of our time on earth. Our uniting between men, men and women or people and nations, will be remembered only for that which we did while holding the trophy.
Not the men who created it, not the men who died defending it, but what transpired after. Each event, each discussion, each fight is not what makes greatness. Greatness comes from believing in something, fighting for it, and then standing on the pedestal and showing that victory was for a reason.
The distance from the outhouse to the grand house is believing in something and then standing for it. People want to be a part of this, and it is understandable why. It is not what was created, it is what we all want and desire.
It did not start with the outhouse any more than the declaration of independence started the United States. It started when God gave us rights, and we got tired of the smell offered to us. A lot of men and women have gave everything they have, to create the nation, but Greatness is not in the past, it is what is accomplished with it.
It was not because God made us, gave us the breath of life, Β and made us a living soul. It was not because he gave another and called her woman, it was his spoken and spiritual blessings for man to have all good things.
From that day to this rather it be between people or governments Greatness comes later, when empathy, bride, andΒ compassion are followed.
