What is a prayer?

Posted on July 10, 2026July 10, 2026 by Verl

What is prayer? It is written that one must pray consistently, why would that have any effect upon our lives?

It is also written that we should go into a closet and pray. Why would that be?

If one would stop and think of what a prayer is, one may find the answer to many things that seem to escape the world around us.

A prayer is more than speaking with God, prayer is our time alone in our own environment, without the influence of outward nose, arguments, or others, that may try to influence us in worldly thinking.

To be alone without the distractions of constant chatter and disruptions of others, we are allowed to dwell on that which is foremost in our personal behavior.

Who could be better to solve your own problems and find answers to one’s own dilemmas. Who better to answer those questions that stump our everyday lives?

Prayer; gives us time by ourselves, to meditate, concentrate, and look inward to our own situation.Β  Β The Β things that we find, the things that we search for, is not found in a book written by others. Where else would one believe, that which is revealed to us, through our own minds, our own voice, our own thoughts?

We do not have to say dear God. When we simply dwell on that which we are concerned with, we areΒ  already taking from that which is in us, and available to us, and gave to us, when we entered this world.

People, government, and society does not give more to us than that which we have within us. We do not need someone to pass a law, ask us to join a group, or some church. What we have is a true fulfilment of that which we was offered to us, gave to us, and used by us.

What we receive in prayer can be from God, or it can be what we want it to be. Does it matter when praying, rather we believe in God? When we enter a dark room we will automatically look to the light. It cannot be helped it is a natural thing.

Seak not that which others offer to us, without first looking within, and then using that which we find from ourselves, to guide us in the future. We are gave to us, we are instructed, and told by God himself that he has gave to us everything possible, to direct our lives, and which way we want to go.

To get the car out, to begin a journey, without opening the flood gates, the garage door, to our own navigation source is rebelling against our own personal protective system.

A prayer is simply a means to our enter voice, that can be used to find answers, that would otherwise be lost in hurrying, rushing, and unused, without destination or Β purpose.

Prayer is not an obligation, not a command, nor just to speak with God, but to speak to ourselves, and the answers we find will result in communications with the universe. Man can not take away that which we have, can not stop our own basic gifts.

Prayer is so much more than what we are lead to believe, it is a basicΒ  part of our own inheritance, handed to us on birth. This gift was gave to us before the nipple, before the very breath we first received.

Prayer, is our way of holding to the right, to be Β a part of what we were intended to be. Faith and Grace comes after prayer, not before, prayer is Gods telephone to ourselves, and to him. Even if one does not believe in prayer, be sure to put the receiver to the ear, just in case he has a message for us, his voice is only heard when wants to hear.

Only a fool fails to justify their actions without wanting guidance from somewhere.

Verl K.
