A blind dog

Posted on April 14, 2026April 14, 2026 by Verl

There once was a little boy setting by the stream and along came a stranger stumbling through the field. I wish I had the time to loaf as you do the fellow said.

You have the same twenty-four hours a day as I do what you are doing was determined by you. I am here setting by the stream bothering no one and resting as I chose. What are you accomplishing, nothing just setting by the stream. I am where I wanted, doing what I wanted and have reached this stream by desire.

Well, the stranger said when I get ready, I will go where I want and do the same. Are you here by chose or by accident the boy ask? I have not made up my mind, yet the stranger said. So you are on a path that you do not know where you are going how will you know when you get there, he was ask? One thing for sure he was told is the place I stop will not be a small stream but a large river. Will you be content when you get there, the boy ask? I will decide that when I get there, he was told.

You are spending a lot of energy and time going somewhere that you do not know where and when you get there you will not know if it is the right place or not. I will know when I see it. Can you tell me what it looks like perhaps I can tell you where it is the boy said. I really do not know but for sure I will know it when I see it.

The young boys told the stranger he once had a blind dog and every day he would take him for a walk. One day we passed the river just before the gigantic falls that separate the upper river from the lower river. Someone had been fishing on a raft, and it had hit a large rock just before going over the edge. They had obviously jumped off and walked around the falls. They had left the raft which was ready to go over the falls and on the raft were several fish they had caught.

Well, the boy said old Spot he just pulled at that lease and barked he could smell those fish, and it was all I could do to keep him from getting onto that raft. That blind dog thought he had found heaven in his mind because what he saw in his mind and what he smelled was not what he would want. Mr. the boy ask Are you smarter than a blind dog? Sometimes what we find after searching Β is not what we want.

Moral of the story is going is not always the answer and not knowing when you get there is more important that the energy spent getting there.
