As we age several things happen and it comes so slow it is not noticed. Routine becomes a habit and a lifestyle. It is a lot easier to continue doing what we have done in the past the older we get. The problem with that is our world is notΒ in a stagnant mode.
My first look at a television was in a store window in downtown Springville Utah. No one had a television it was not known then. You never lost your phone because it was tied to the wall with a cord. Dick Trace was a funny book type character, and he had a wristwatch that he could see someone in the watch and talk to them. That was laughter in those days so radicles that we watched fascinated by such things.
Robert Gear who lived on the same block in town, was fortunate that his dad bought one of the first T.V.βs in Springville. We would go over on Saturday and Roberts mother would let all of us boys watch T.V. for an hour to an hour and half then she would refuse us anymore. Go outside and play and get out of the house, I do not believe to much of this can be good for you. She never allowed us to just spend our day in front of a television set. That may be what has limited my time today on this one-eyed monster.
Years later I had was in Electronics School in Provo Utah and just out of high school. The instructor was explaining to us that our class had outscored many students that wanted this class but because of our test achievements we were now learning Β what others had not been able to achieve. Now he said you go home and watch a television where the man speaking to you was probably one of those that failed entry and you do not do your homework because you are listening to someone who knows less than you do. He went on to explain that it is good and wise to learn from someone of higher intelligence not less than our own.
Now as I turn on my computer, I see stuff that google and news casters try to influence me here in South America I am still bombarded with B.S. I would wager what comes on my screen is so far out of truth as a skunk in Church. Artificial Intelligence is like marijuana little can be good but to much will kill you. I personally think it would be easier for a chain smoker at sixty to quit faster and easier than getting a twenty-year-old to go without a phone.
What could be the advantage of not using a phone or computer or tablet you say. Let me compared to making a cake we put the ingrediencies into a bowl and mix. There has to be a point when you quit adding a then mix. The items I mentioned never end the process of adding has become the subject of discussion with no results. When do they turn it off and absorb the information? At what point Β does this fact that become important? Never because they never stop to analyze that is hidden in the desire to watch.
Let me ask you as readers how many phone calls do you receive a day that could have waited two days and still been the same results? Can you go for a walk without a phone? Set at the table and speak with those around you and not be interrupted by someone else. I promise the very thing that is educating our society is destroying our lifestyle of peace and relaxation. Excessive indulgence in anything is harmful. Running every day is great but it must be flowed by a time of resting equal to the exercising time.
Everyone feeds what they like but happiness can only be found within our selfβs and if we do not take time to absorb, we are cheating ourselves. The wider oneβs knowledge the better foundation. What is theΒ longest time you have gone away from a phone or computer? Test me try going to the store without a phone. Can you do it? First thing in the mind is why should I? that is the very thing I have been speaking about private time has been stolen from us for so long we accept it as a slave to a master.
The United States at one time had slaves and they would not allow them to read they wanted domination of those that they held power over. No different today they put a bucket over our heads and feed in what they want us to know. They want to control our thinking no different than no reading when you think about it.
If I am wrong, you will have no problem going twenty-four hours without putting your head in that bucket. Scares some just thinking about it. God gave us a perfect computer in our heads now the question is who controls it?
